General Surgery Residency Program

The Iowa Methodist Medical Center program in Des Moines, a premier community hospital-based residency, offers a unique blend of surgical training opportunities. As our residents progress through the program, they are exposed to a wide variety and large number of surgical procedures in both inpatient and ambulatory settings.

Our program prides itself in early operative experience, progressive residency autonomy and flexibility tailored to meet individual career needs. We also provide ample opportunity for research pursuits.
